Flow, flow, flow, you can restrict it at the nozzle/gun to the gpm output you desire, the more it flows, the more you can restrict it creating pressure. Those pumps (dc) need as little restriction as possible, gas, air, & 110v powered pumps can overcome more restrictions because the are stronger. We run 300' off our pumps, the first 150' is 5/8" and the next 150' is 1/2" to the nozzle.
This works out very well for us because the flow is good enough at that distance and the 1/2" is less fatiguing to maneuver on the working end. We also run it through a 3/4" swivel and waterway at the reel. We tested it with our flow meters and were happy with the minimal difference in flow by switching the last 150' to 1/2".
