#1 is it just too early for the rush of new guy's to ask questions?
#2 is the economy so bad that their will be less start-up's this year?
#3 the search on this bbs is so good we just dont see a lot of new guy's asking question's
#4 is it related to the poss. war?[we are missing a lot of people due to the war effort/young people]
#5 [add your thought's]

Seem's most bb's are real slow right now.

WE could only hope around here the number of start ups is less. Seems like we had a massive influx of weekenders last year. Can't wait to see if they are still in business.

As far as I can tell.... We are swamped. New guys all over.

In this economy, with the lay-offs and all, I think it's making people who would not normally be willing to take the risk of being self employed, are stepping out on that limb and going for it. There is no such thing as job security. I am helping several of these individuals get set-up right now. In other words... I've never been busier in this industry. Hopefully it will pick up for those who are slow.

Good luck to all. I'm not on here much anymore because I am extremely busy but I do answer emails.

Based on the Yellow Pages

In my area, last year there was 13 pressure washing businesses listed. This year there is 18 listed. Just think of all the ones that are not in the yellow pages. I think it is growing at an extreme rate in my area.

Last year in the yellow pages, I was the only pressure washing company that did not have just a single line - I has a one inch box with a white background.

This year - there are 7 pressure washing business with a one inch box and another 6 pressure washing business with a one inch box with a white background. This year - there is only 1 pressure washing business with a two inch box and a red, white, & blue background - thats me.

I wonder what I will have to do next year - you have to stay one step ahead of your competition.

Another thing: I am amazed at the number of ads that are mentioning being insured, stating words like Restoration instead of cleaning or Pressure washing. Words like Pressure instead of Power.

Will see what happens after they eat less, make less, and realize that it is work and alot more work to get a contract, then will see where they are at....

I'm famished, I don't eat as much but not because I am broke but because I want to slim down a few pounds, like 60 but not all at once!

Justin your not doing justice to all the Mods on Dan F. board, a few of us here are Mods there so what does that make us? I know some of those you speak of but please don't lump all into one group.

Tim Hays, congrads for sticking it out and making a go of it, last year, this year and many more to come.

Mattia, hush, I don't publish all I do, I do things to track competitors. I don't follow them around like one or two do with me! Guess they are hungry:)

Tim Smith, yellow pages are very misleading, whoever many there are on those pages mutiply them by 25 to get a better prespective of how many are out there and even then you will not get them all. I am not in the yellow pages, word of mouth and personal introduction is how I do it.

Reed you Texans always do things in a BIG WAY, BANG!, opps sorry man, I missed that apple on the Big Cowboy's head, wow look at the hole in his hat now:D

Ron P. I have been away for almost a week and don't miss all their dilly dallly at all, remember they get CABIN FEVER and after a few month they tend to go wacky.

Oh yeah I am back and in good form, but don't expect me to post as often as I have other things to do too:cool:
