Tampa Water restrictions

Fox 13 called me today and wanted to come to one of my jobs and ask us some questions about the water restrictions.

I had 4 jobs today and they kept trying to catch up to us but we kept moving so we never hooked up?

Damn, that would have been great advertising. How hard is it for them to write an address down and meet you at your next job?

Hahaha! Ya killing me! I got a better idea. I will call them and tell them where to meet ME. :D

Even after 10" of rain this weekend we are still under a level 2 water restriction. It's been this way for a few years now and I don't see it improving drastically in the near future.North Ga. is under a much more sevre drought and would require 20"+ of raiin to reach a neutral status.

Small town america doesn't like 10" of rain in 8 hours in addition to the inch or so we got friday. These pics were taken on the street we live on and a couple of block east of us.

Kory before they attack the pwing industry try and push them on stricter watering restriction for lawns and car washing.I have family in Jax they can only water twice a week now.
Here even/odd watering for lawns and car washing from 12am to 10am.No watering or car washing on sundays.
Find out if they are going to enforce this on county properties and vehicles,as well as, private residences. If they aren't setting the example they can not enforce it.
Our local and state governments have exemptions in place for businesses that make a living using water.Ask for the exemption.Car washes will be getting them and you should be as well.

Ya good ideas. I would push the economic stuff. If they put 100's of PWing contractors out of biz, that will hurt the tax dollars coming inn, put people out of biz and in these economic times we need as many people working as we can

Good luck Kory & Tampa

Yeah there where about 12 of us at the meeting. We where lucky a manager southwest water management aka swiftmud did his due diligence and caught use off guard. He explained to the board that a Ban on PW for 4 months would cause 2200 jobs and $81 million in rev. He also said he thought these numbers where on the low end of the scale and that these where projections done by annalists. Myself and others also mentioned the fact that times are already tough and that most of us are self employed and have others that work for us that would be out of work. We also let them know that there are health and safety issues that will arise. And the nail in the coffin was the test done by a local that showed it took 468 gallons of water to clean a drive with an electric PW and only 78 with a 4 gpm and surface cleaner. 21 vs 8 on a car there where more numbers but I forgot them.

the main issue that I have not seen here is that if you are to rinse off your driveway with a garden hose, then rinse off the same driveway with a 4gpm machine, you would in the end get the drive done faster meaning you would use less water by using the pressure washer.

Am I correct on this?
