Last night when finishing work I strapped down the surface cleaner to my new trailer. The straps are held down via 2 I bolts that had lock washers as well as locking nylon nuts on it. This evening I made it to dinner and noticed while sitting inside that it was missing. Now the way my Big Guy's are setup is not using the gun, so there is a 90* elbow coming off the swivel, no couplers or plug, then the hose is routed up the left handle and zip tied onto that side of the surface cleaner. The tie down strap was under the hose and up against the swivel. The I bolt pulled up through the wood then I am guessing ripped off the zip ties that held on the hose. From that point the only thing that had it held down was the strap onto one of the I bolts.
Point is be very careful how your rig is put together. One simple flat washer could have prevented this from happening (there was one on the other I Bolt) if this was not stolen off the trailer and did in fact work itself loose. This can be a disasterous position for a small business owner especially without the protection of LLC or corp. If this were to have went through someones windshield or made someone fly off the road i could be applying with Russ or Ron in the near future to repay that debt that insurance may not cover? Around here people sue for 30 million for being treated unfairly at work because they are homosexual, so imagine if they would have lost a life.
Point being if your pulling a rig and you have items that are not stationary, IE. wands, surface cleaners; please double check your equipment and restraint devices for these objects and save yourself the headache of purchasing another or in this case using another a spare you already have.
Any ideas on how to
