Stainless steel couplings and plugs

Chuck,
Switched about six months ago. Made the switch because the plated plugs corrode so bad. Have not had any of my inline Rotomax filters plug up since the change. The expense is more up front but I beleive much cheaper in the long run.

There are some differant quality of s.s. fittings available. Espec has some that are imported and the cost is significantly lowwer. If you are willing to take the cost into consideration these fittings may be ok. The quality may not be the same as a U.S. manufactured fitting. They also offer the high end U.S. s.s. fittings.

Did have a problem putting plugs and couplers on a few hoses though. The plated plugs were siezed and snapped off. An easy repair at a local shop though.

I have not had the same positive experience with SS. I am working everyday in very dirty environments (new construction sites) and the SS couplers don't seem to last any longer. Am now using SS only at the machine and on my gun/hose whip. Will be testing SS plugs again (but no SS couplers) on hoses.

I've been using them for over 9 years,so I know what your saying when ya say sooner. They are cheaper today as to what they their back then, also think you'll find they are easier on ya O rings.I drag mine though mud, garvel, dirt,I wouldn't know what it was like washing on a hard'surface but think it would be nice like the S.S.
