Does anyone out there have any experience with washing small aircraft (sesnas, ect.)I would like to know any downfalls on this type of washing before I go after any potential clients. I have never looked at one up close, but im sure that they are just aluminum and fiberglass. a truck detergent should work right? what do you think?

I recieved a call once to clean a small airplane. Unfortunately, I couldn't do it, because the guy wanted it done immediately.

Then I got to thinking......if anything bad should ever happen to that plane, the FAA is going to be looking at everything with a fine tooth comb. And if the maintenance records show I washed the plane, then they will question me and maybe rake my butt over the coals.

Maybe I'm wrong, but until someone tell's me any different, I'm staying away from aircraft.

The one hting is that there are a couple of spots that cannot be hit by a pressure washer. I am sure the owner of the plane would be able to tell you where they are. They are usually all aluminum. The hardest area is the belly, because that is where any leaking oil goes.

Yeah, you are all right. This may be a high risk area to get in to. Right now I am in the planing stages of this and plan do do a large amount of research. I will probably go to the airport tomorrow and see what info I can come up with. I will post any interesting findings. thanks for all your help

Dave ;)
