My largest account has contracted my services for power washing and detailing for the last 3yrs and I pay a hefty contracter fees and have to go by there book priceing and i dont have an issue with there priceing.the only issue I have here is that latley they have been giveing our detailing jobs to there contracted painter. We provide excellent services and have never had any complaints about our work. I have been told that the other contracter didnt have enough work at the time and would be doing some of the detailing while we are providing there spraydown services. tomarrow I plan on seeing the GM on this issue and trying to keep my cool. I ask you all how would you approach this issue? :help:

Sounds like the painters are trying to get in on the action. I wouldn't be surprised if they lowballed the price to get the job.

From my experience with certain companies price is almost always an issue. You never really know what's going on behind the scenes. Just my opinion

It's not always about pricing. Sure quality has something to do with the job also.

I remember when I lost some jobs when I had a detailing business back in 1985 ish. I lost some jobs because they had a relationship with the other company. A relationship that I did not have even though I did a better job for less. I learned !!!!

You need to have a relationship with your clients. I usually call the EPA once every other week. Always asking whats up in the world of things asking if they would like to go dutch for lunch( Since they cannot accept anything but water). I also go out and get cake and ice cream right after we do any large jobs. I have the cake saying Thank You from XYZ and I always give it to the office.

I never give my clients a business attitude. I try a friendship approach. This is difficult if you do not have a true talent for the sale.

Recently, I let someone on this board hear a phone message I did to another client about giving my cell phone number. I made sound personal.

IT'S NOT WHAT YOU SAY......BUT HOW YOU SAY IT.

be a total pro about it. because they can take your all you other work too. if you have a contract just let them know. and you dont want to put your name on that guys work.

Someone high in the ladder ranks moved up and needs their house painted so they a re making a relationship with the painter.or they r related.
