Scheduling software

I was wondering what others are using as far as scheduling software? I have been using google calendar but would like to move on to something better. I would want something where I could print out a schedule for the week or month that details where the property is, what areas need extra attention etc. We run several rigs and offer a few different services so it would be nice to have a schedule for each route.

You can do all that in Google calendar. We have different colors and labels for different trucks. We have have different labels for night work or day work. And you can edit even details to add notes, comments, and repeat dates. And you can view it all from your smart phone. But I just recently purchased Service CEO. So far I am not too happy with it. The customer support is terrible.

We just use the calendar app on our Mac, this syncs with phones wirelessly and although simple and limited, works best for us.

I've tried various FileMaker (database software) solutions and bought a program called Daylite. Like Ty's experience with Service CEO, the learning curve and customization required was too arduous. Also, the 'out of the box' product was too generic, we would have had to pay an accredited company to set up to our needs.

I use yellow legal pads, back side of business cards and scraps of paper I keep in my pocket. I have people call occasionally asking me if I forgot their house or property, but for the most part it works. Don't have to keep batteries in anything or have one of those fancy phones or portable computers.

My father-in-law follows the same principle - funniest I've seen is scrap pieces of 2x4 and plywood... he's a carpenter!

Last night I texted Shelly to throw the remote over to me from her chair.

When she didn't respond fast enough I quickly bored and went to bed. (Why can't I find an app to turn my electric blanket on so its warm for me when I go to bed.)

I still use all of these as well. The other day my son was looking at a piece of 2x6 I had used to write a job location on. I just enter them into the scheduling program later.
