sander

I use the dewalt hook and loop orbital with 50 grit. I actually bought a hook and loop black and decker mouse that has different attachments to get into tight spaces. I also have 2 older craftsman 4 inch belt sanders. ( i had those belt sanders from before and brought them into play for wood restoration ) I have a dozen of the rectangular ones with the clamps that hold the paper on. but to me they are useless cause the paper rips off at the clamps. my ultimate goal is to strip good enough where i never have to sand.
 
I meant more for the deck itself. Do you get on your hands and knees and sand or do you use something more like what a hardwood guy wood use?

The deck that I'm thinking of needs to be sanded more because its in rough shape, not because I don't think that I'll be able to strip it well enough. Actually it's pretty much already stripped from the weather and sun.
 
local guy here rents them for 25 dollars a day. but yea i have gotten on my hands and knees and used my 4 inch belt sander before.

We strip old stain with chemical and use the sander to smooth the wood out and remove splinters. Square buff sander works great for the surface. Dewalts and makitas for the other stuff. Just took a pic, I used all of these on a little deck this morning

thats what i was looking for. thanks! what brand is that? is there another that you would have rather purchased?
 
I have a log home i want to buff and am looking for the right tool to get the fuzz off quick. What kind of wheel is everyone using for their buffer? I was at the store the other day and i saw one that was like stone is that the one ???
