Sales Rep Pay Scale

I recently started with a rep. I pay:

1. Salary
2. Commission of new sales
3. Commission on repeat work (residual)
4. Gas compensation

Residual is good because they continue to get paid and don't forget the customer.

There's been some threads on this that are worth searching and checking out.

Companys are all different.
I think Mallard Systems used to pay 20 percent of the gross, plus provide a company vehicle/gas.
I had an inside sales girl I paid 10 percent to, for picking up the phone, writing orders.
She did ok, made from 500 to 750 most weeks, gave me a break for awhile.
But one week, I made her log all calls.
I followed up with ones she didn't sell, and sold enough of them that I became convinced she had to go.
I do not screw salespeople, and still pay ex salespeople who put out flyers some time ago.
If a flyer an ex salesperson put out comes in for a sale, I pay.
Simple as that.
Even though the salespeople are no longer working for me.
