I think it was coated

Not to take away from the product or your work.

I have found it very difficult to get heavy rust completely off of naked concrete, thats why I asked, but if it is sealed, your clients "wow" factor goes through the roof. .........$$$........, thats why I think its nice to sell them on a seal or coating job too.

Keep up the good work Chris, did you try the "iron out", and the Echochem "safe restore" on this job also?

no not yet but I am going to go back and hit a few different chem on it I mean I have about 50foot of rust playground to play with so I am going to try all kinds of stuff even spit at it and se if I can clean it.

The nmd80 from eaco is the most powerful rust remover I have tried. But that rust is unpredictable, what works one time doesn't work every time so having a variety on hand is helpful. Believe it or not the iron out from home depot works great also and its a powder which is helpful sometimes, well worth having on hand. I will get some of especs remover to have on hand, it's all worth it when you have the magic bullet you need, and rust can be such an eyesore. By the way, just looking, that rust looks like it would come off easily so it may not be the toughest test.

it might be easier if I had a mix in a pump up sprayer.

search for a thread about using acid for removing rust stains. I remember a thread a while back on one of the boards about rust removal using acid.

Chris,

I've used Rust Away for a couple years now, never on a vertical surface like you attempted. Dwell time is everything with Rust Away. Pump-up sprayer might be your answer for the vertical wall. Experiment with different delusion rates. I (we) apply with a pump-up sprayer on the flatwork, let it set for 1/2 hour or better, then wash away.

Looks great Chris, hope you get the jobs.

I did not know that the nmd80 is a rust remover, I did know about SafeRestore and GS Restoration for rust.

My concerns...

How much SF could you clean in a hours time and I am guessing you would bill it out as a specialty service meaning you would keep track of the hours and turn in?

Or

Would you just know how long it takes you to complete it and guess per job?

My problem with the latter is there is always variables. Nothing ever seems to go as planned it seems.

I think the dilution I read somewhere was to start with a little spray bottle and mix it at 5% muratic, then 95% water. wet the area, first then spray on. As soon as the mix hits the wall, it has reacted and started bubbling. If this mix is not strong enough try to add a little more muratic untill you come up with a proper mix for this test.

Try it and see if it works out while your testing different products for rust removal
