Rig in Truck Bed??

After crunching some numbers, I won't be able to purchase a new PW till after the first of the year and I was wanting to put it in the bed of my truck instead of buying a second trailer since I have to get a new one for my mowing (and I can have both on a job site with me. I have a 92 Chevy 1500 standard cab long bed. Plenty of room but I was wondering if anyone did this and has some pictures??

I ran a unit in the bed of my truck for a while. I LOVED it.
I made a frame out of 4x4's and bolted my washer, stackable reels, and 90gal water tank to it. There was room to put two 25 gal drums in there as well. I kept my tool box on the floor board of truck and used a bed rail truck box to hold my other stuff. Since it was bolted onto the 4x4 frame I could slide it from one truck to the other. The frame was as wide as my wheel wells and as long as my bed so that it wouldnt slide.
Sorry no pics though.

I ran a 6gpm machine with my setup and with a 90gallon tank I never had a water problem at residential jobs.

Man I would love to have seen pics of that. How did you lay it out? I was thinking having the back of the PW against the front of the bed and the reels on the very back so I could take the tailgate off and have them near the edge for easy use.

If you are going to have a tank over 90 gallons, you will want it up towards the cab and have the pressure washer over the axle. Two reasons, less slosh from the tank, and the machine will be easier to work on.

Listen to Scott! If you have machine problems and it is at the top (against cab) then you could have some problems.

I am figuring that you are running a pressure washer with a key start or you could reach the pull string without having to climb into the truck every time?

I used to have a 225 gallon tank and a BCE 5.5 gpm skid in the back of my truck before I got my trailer. I loved having it back there but you have to make sure the truck will always start so you can go to work, with a trailer you can always borrow or rent a truck if yours breaks down, and your back in biz.

I had my tank in the very front, machine over the axles and my reels were stackable on the very back. I left my tailgate on to help keep everything together, yes I had to lean over the gate to wind hoses but no big deal.
I might add the machine I used was an old HOTSY 1260 unit that I cut in half and removed all the burner parts and coils. I then put a gear drive pump on my motor. So basiclly it was just a motor and pump sitting above a big fuel tank, very compact, Kinda like Bobs Cube units.

Looks good Dustin. We are considering moving our roof washing set-up from a trailer to the back of a truck, so we don't have to pull the trailer around. What kind of stackable reels are those?

This is an F450, and this weighs close to 4k lbs full. This is a standard 8ft bed. You could get the weight down to around 2k with a 200 gallon tank. I've seen guys driving around here with the same 325 gallon tank full in the back of an F150 with a 6ft bed. (Not suggested);)
