What systems does everyone use to recycle their waste water??? What Gpm's do they flow, and what is the service life of the filters??? Im building a new rig and need some input on the recycling systems! Any help offered would be greatly appreciated!!

I dont have a recycle system, but I know of quite a few systems.

Whats your budget, and how much flow are you talking about, what is to be the requirements of the treated water.

I have gotten quotes from $40,000 downward (thats at 25gpm and will past the most stringent tests {99.5%})

There was a complete system on trailer that was $125,000, needless to say the salesperson had now hesitation in his voice.

$25000 down, the ones i have now Reclaim 20 gal per mine, and recycle the same! I need one that does about 40 gal per min!!!

Most systems are more effective when you have a big settle tank.

What technology filtration are you leaning toward?

And what is you filtered water requirements, (not just the microns, the metals etc.)

If you dont have to worry about the other pollutants, then modify an existing mechanical filtration system.

Settlement tank (may be 500gallon), OWS (250 gallon), media filter or two, cartridge filters (many), and degassed carbon or benzonite/clay (if necessary), high pump out (at your 40gpm). This system may have to be on a trailer on its own, you still have to supply power.

We have 40 GPM at 20 mic. It is a little small for us when it comes to garage cleaning. Thinking on building a 80 GPM. JUST THINKING. May not happen for a few years. Our current filter was built in 1992 ish at a cost between 70 to 80 k or so. ( It has been so long, I tend to forget) It needs 15 KW diesel Kubota to run it.

Our newer one, if we build it, will need a 35 to 40 KW to drive it and could cost well over 100k. It will filter down to 5 micron if need be. It would be the latest in tech. has to offer.

Until then, we will still run our 17 year old design. Of course, 17 years ago, most pressure washers who did Parking Garage cleaning weren’t even filtering. Back then, our filter was state of art and I find that filters built today are using the same design as ours only 1/4 of our specs.

Parking Garage steam cleaning is what we do best. It is the only thing we have ever done in 20 years of doing business.

What would be the benefit over what you are using now?

What would be the benefit over what you are using now?

When we do a Garage Cleaning, we can generate up to 110 GPM of class two Hazardous waste.

Our current filter cannot keep up and sometimes if we do not time it right, we have to shut down and wait for the filter to catch up.

This new filter will allow us to keep going while maintaining the requirement set forth by the EPA.

Pressure washing designed Filters on the market today are just not big enough for our needs.

Also a Note guys. If you buy a filter, Always at first, it will preform to specs. When the filter is getting 1/2 filled, or there abouts, it will slow in its performance. THIS IS Normal. You need to always go 1 or 2 models up from what you think is right for you. Trust me.... it will save you time and money in the long run.

Not intending to put words in his mouth but.........

Probably so he could keep up with is 80GPM fire hose rise down.

Thats a lot of water Jim, a whole lot,....... then you could get finished faster instead of waiting for the filter to catch up.

Did I hit the nail on the head Jim?

Wow! Jim. That leaps ahead of the competition.

How much would you sell the current filter for??........ not that I can afford it, but just curious.

Also, be aware..... Your state may be different than here..... we have to show our equipment and get a permit BEFORE we start any job. We cannot just show up and say... here we are with our new starter filter. YOU WILL GET FINED ! Even if you have the best filter on the planet.

Not going to sell it...at least not yet. For us to make it ... it would be about the mid 90's.

If I was to sell it with the trailer and the 15 KW diesel Kubota generator? About 1/2 of that. No less than 35k.

If no one takes her, I will keep her for smaller jobs.

AGAIN, I AM NOT SELLING THE FILTER AND HAVE NO PLANS ON SELLING HER. However in a few years, if I do make another, I will consider it.

So whats the BLUE BOOK on the old one Jim?

Nigel, you always get me thinking about the latest stuff. I need to watch what I say around you. You’ll get me building stuff that I am not ready for. But you get me thinking.

But my wife then brings me down to earth. But if I was to listen to you….. My pressure washer would be powered by a jet engine. LOL LOL LOL

Always good to talk to you Nigel. You are a friend.

Do you have any positions at "Crystal Cleaning Company", in the R & D department? :)

I try to keep up with stuff, not sure how long it would last, it takes a lot of time and effort.

Just last night (2 am) I came across some new industry pumps from two manufacturers, one of them has specs that has my eyebrows raised.

Waiting on an email from General Pumps.

Theirs is 6.3 @ 4350psi @ 1750rpm, 24mm shaft, very nice

You know the pump I like best but the price  .

This is a great substitute, General Pump had a hole to fill , looks like they are doing it in 2009.

So can we schedule an interview?
