Well, I have a couple of cleanings under my belt now. I just did this one today, it is the first one I have pictures of. I only have a couple of before and after because my camera went dead while I was taking the after shots on the roof. I would like your imput on how I did. I am new at this and trying to give the industry a good name so if I didn't do something good enough please tear it apart. Also, I would love some idea's on pricing. I feel as if I may have underbid this job because it took me a long time, or maybe I am just new and slow. This had about a 12ft hood and in my opinion it was pretty greasy. Thanks for all the awesome info and help.

It seems like you did a fine job-who gave you the education, it seems like you have had some training. How long did it take you? Two man crew should be able to service this account in 3.5-4.5 hours.

Because the cost of living varies from state to state the cost will vary with the cost of living. You could for example set a hour rate at lets say between $75-$175 per hour. Some cleaners charge per linear feet plus so much per fan and access doors along with other time related charges.

Go to the search window and type in key words for other questions related to any subject.

It took us (a two man crew) about 6 hours. I guess part of it is lack of experience and the partly our canopy feel and we had to redo it and clean a bigger mess on the floor. The average here is around $100 to $150 an hour, but my problem is figuring out how long a it should take so I can charge accordingly. Right now I am charging based on the length of the hood and amount of fans and access panels. Plus I adjust according to if the sign atleast a year service agreement (frequency depends on type of restaurant). I had a guy in Texas (its my home state) show me the ropes for a couple of days while I was visiting some family. Plus I have just read and researched in places like this. Finally, I just keep cleaning until it is clean. I am very detailed and anal about cleanliness anyway, so I figure to me clean is clean. Thanks again everyone.

Trey is a great guy.
