Oxalic and red clay?

I've read several post about oxalic cleaning red clay from bottom of brick houses. I mixed 8 oz. to gallon of water sprayed on and let dwell for a couple minutes, then scrubbed with brush. I had little to no results. Am I missing something?

Where did you get your oxalic? How did you apply?

Hi Celeste, this is Jimmy who visited last week to see the NMD80 in action. I got the oxalic from The Chemistry Store. I used a pump up sprayer to apply to see what results I would get.

Hi Jimmy.....give Roger a call tonight. Maybe he can shed some light - that oxalic should have been pretty pure (no fillers) and being pumped up, you should not have had an over-dilution problem. How did the mortar look when you finished? Was it brighter than the mortar where you didn't use it? That's usually the biggest drawback on using oxalic on brick - you'll get nice white sections. What color was your brick?
