The "old man of roof cleaning" taking on the SEO "experts" at their own game, and winning !

Actually, I am MORE proud of my Singles Group web site.
It is the TRUE "secret" of where a LOT of my non repeat business comes from.
My Singles Group is the Tampa area's largest group, with 943 members.
It is a GREAT "networking" opportunity with a LOT of single women who have no man at home to clean for them. :)

I really underestimated it's impact on my business when I started it.
I just wanted to start a group where I could meet other Single People, like myself. :cool:

Chris, first off congrats.. no small task..

Remember this though.. your site is not number one, your home page is. Every page is ranked independantly. Your links page has much less weight than your home page. Your next goal should be to get that Links page to move up in the ranking by taking advantage of the age of your URL and interjecting keywords and anchor text.
 
Don't stop there man. If you develop your site more it would expode in the search engines. I just got done updating my webpage so that seo's will start seeing it but the thing that hurts me is that it hasn't been around long. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that as soon as google's crawler comes by my page rank will improve upon. If I have figured this SEO stuff out like I think I might have, I would love to share some tips with everyone that is interested.

Yeah, I know.
It does need some more anchor text for sure.
The reason I have not really optimized it Ken is this.
I was SCARED of getting HIT with a duplication penalty.

As you know,, Google HATES being spammed.
Too many closely related pages can wind you up in the sandbox.

The page does pretty well.
It;s real purpose was to help the guys on it get found UNTIL they could stand on their own web site merits.

Believe it or not, it comes up pretty good in local rankings.

I once even got a "hate email" from some yo yo claiming it was an attempt to steal work up in Arkansas, LOL

Like I am gonna go clean roofs in Arkansas :confused:

I DO plan to upgrade the links page though.

No way around it Shark, you just gotta wait your turn.
Older Urls rule the rankings.
That is just the way it is.
Give me the URL, and as long as you are NOT a local competitor or Low Baller to one of my friends, I will give you a link.
And IF you are, and it is OK with them, I will still link to you.
A link on my site will help you until Google finds your site.
I will not do ANYTHING to knowingly hurt my friends, and have REMOVED sites from my links page after convincing evidence was shown to me that I had a Low Baller harming someone I like.
 
I wouldn't say that you can't get a good ranking just because your site is new. You just have to do a whole bunch more then you would if your website has been established for awhile. And being linked by pages with higher ranks is a great way to help the lower rank guys out. I'm really interested to see if my website changes will help my ranking but google needs to hurry up and crawl and update my changes. :). If you don't mind putting my link on yours I would be more than happy to put yours on mine.

My Singles Group web page www.brandonsingles.com has Page Rank Two, yet sits at the top of Google for search term 'singles group'.

My roof cleaning site is page rank 3.

Yet, Jet Clean, a ratings competitor out of Seattle has page rank 4 !

Go through the singles group page rank ratings and see for yourself ?

I am up against page rank 5 and 6 pages, LOL

I DO have MY secrets to web ranking, but some things I keep to myself.

It is not really necessary for business, although it sure does not hurt either.

It is an EGO thing for me more then anything else.

I was TOLD by a friend who wanted 1500.00 to make a web site it was "too technical" for me, LOL

IF you knew me personally, you would know that is the wrong thing to say to me.
I LOVE a challenge.

Every time I GO to number one, I show my friend who SAID I couldn't do it :cool:

Actually, having the numer one world ranked page CAN be a PAIN in the lower back :eek:

EVERY week, I get two or three people calling me wanting to pick my brain about cleaning roofs.

Fortunately, I have sent many here, and to other boards.

So we get some new friends.

But I always get MY time intruded on when I Least want it.

It is under Danver Colorado Pressure Washing, second from the last link.
This wont matter, it will come up in your local area as soon as Google crawls the change.


Now, link back to THIS page, and title the link "Find Pressure Washing And Roof Cleaning in Your Area"

It won't have any affect on duplicating content because thats not what you are doing. Thats how we can all help each other rank better for specific keywords.

Gotta be careful in re labeling links though.
MY problem is I am a ROOF CLEANING page, however, many companys I linked to me are Pressure Washers who DO roof cleaning.

I can't call a pressure cleaning page a roof cleaning page ya know ?

Please give me an example of where there is no anchor text on my links page ?
 
Chris I can't find your websites. I found two blogs, one for brandon singles and one for roof cleaning but it didn't have any navigation menu or links page. There was a picture at the top of a sign at Republic Bank.. Is this your blog or your company website?
