He just contracts large jobs.
He is interested in me and likes my professionalism.
He want's me to go look at a 500 unit condo complex with decks.
EVERYTHING need's to be cleaned. EVERYTHING.
He is willing to leave some equipment and water trailer on site.
I cant streatch the job out to long.
He has 8 rigs and oil fuel trucks converted to water haulers.
He has contract's for over $500,000 each.[whole school dist. in major cities].
How do you go from a house washer to washing city blocks worth of house's.
Would you want to?
I went from king of my ship to a sea of ???????????????????
He has 20 guy's and cant keep up with his work.
Gives away or loose's $1000's a month in work he cant get to.
Want's to make money just by subbing.
Anyone out their that can give me some guidance?

Are there any other contractors locally that would be interested in going in with you on a joint venture for this project? I have some that do that with me on some of the projects I do, like the warehouse job we just completed. You have to be careful on things like this because you can't give up the jobs you normally do for this. Sounds like it would be good for you if you have help. Just don't bite off more than you can chew. You might want to hire some help to work for you also. Things like this are what i call "growing pains" Think this out before you make a commitment you can't keep.

I would guess that guy knows marketing and how to sale.

He may know a person or two - I bet he has network with the right people.

Ron,
Is this the guy that is advertising in the classified section of epowerwash.com??

I would give it a shot and check out that Condo Complex. It can't hurt. Does he want you to write up an estimate sheet on it?? This could be tough because you could and up losing some money in the end if it takes alot longer then you expected. Also Hopefully he is good at paying you as you go or whatever agreement you have with him.

If you think you might get the job then I would do what Steven above said. Maybe line up a couple of other contractors to do it with you. Maybe even you could put an add in epowerwash or your local newspaper to hire out some contractors yourself to complete this job if you get it.

My biggests concerns would be if you get the job are: How and when will he pay you so you can make some money and pay your help. Also is it worth doing because it might and probably will cut into your own way of making money through YOUR customers.

Good Luck

thanks

clean county-that sure was the tip you gave me.
Im going to look at the job and get some numbers if it rains sat like the weather man said.
clean county do you anymore about this guy?

Ron P,
A friend of mine told me about that classified add. I don't know anything about who is behind that add. All I can say is good luck with it.

Maybe it turns out to be a gold mine. Who knows. As for my commission if you land these giant job..its..its...you must show up at the October Roundtable in NJ and buy me a drink. Yes I know its quite steep but if you do well with this possible connection you could probably BUY the bar and I still will get my drink for free.:D

Hey Ron, If you get the job and need some help let me know. I 'm not sure how far away you are but it can't be to far since I'm in the middle of the state. Let me know and we can talk.

Mark.

When opportunity knocks - open the door.

Ron P. GO FOR IT! You can do it. You can't be succesful without hard work. Hey, if you have to do it yourself, I guess you'll just have to work a few very long days, but you can do it. As for how he got where he is, sales, sure, but I bet he had a nice sized bank account also. Anyway, I think you can do it. Let us know how it turns out. Also, accidently leave some business cards at the management office, maybe they will just call you next time.

Extreme,

Isn't the suggestion of leaving business cards accidently biting the hand that feeds you? If someone gives you work, you don't do that. Just my opinion. I was a large contractor and I don't think that is right. That's where I stand.

Ron,

Go for it. Sounds like it will keep you busy. Working under someone isn't all that bad when it puts food on your plate.
