No this doesnt belong on the blab section >>>

Good job!

Quick question...how much do you bid for overhead work like canopies? I don't think I've ever seen any figures for that.

Way to go Dan, You know more about what you can charge than they do. Chances are if they used someone else they would heve to call you back to do it right anyway and would have cost more in the long run. It would of been a mistake to have backed off of the price.

Good job!

Even after submitting many many bids over the years, I still get nervous when submitting the big ones. You always think you're high even though you've checked and rechecked your numbers. It's usually about the time I start thinking "no way they took that one", that they call up and ask me when I can start. You have to try as much as possible, even though sometimes it's hard, to remove the emotion from the equation and you'll think more rationally about the job.

Sounds like you had the better poker face with this hand Dan! :)

Good work Dan

I have had some of the hardest people to deal turn around and become my best customers, simply because I took the time to work with them. Sometime it's just a test, trying to see waht you are made of.

Is'nt it funny that we as humans alot of times fail this "test"

Dont get me wrong I am no Angel >>> But I feel that this guy was trying to get me to his level of pricing . which I didnt move . So I stuck to what I learned most outa life>>>>>>>>>>>>>
honesty . I dont think he liked the idea of me comparing his bread prices to my cleaning prices.

And yesterday i recieved A call from another business referred by "customer # 1" >>>>>>

the call started out >>>
Hey Dan this is ________ and you just did a store and canopy for ________ would you please stop in and give me an estimate.
HE said you did a wonderful job and I stopped out to check it out . and dont worry about your estimate what ever you come up with is fine with me. Im not near as hard to deal with as ____.

Wow ! how far will this go i asked myself..

So on friday I will go to customer #2 and give him a bid.

And to think I was going to tell customer # 1 to hit the road and dont ever call me ..

Thank you for everybody's positive replys It meant alot to me >>>>> I was worried after I typed this that there would be al kinds of neg. feed back ... Thank you....

Price on overhead canopies
I just charge by the hour>> I figured it would take me about 3 hours to clean it .......... And it took 2.5 (just canopy)
the whole job took appox. 6 hours I figured it would take 7. ( big-lot, big-store ) hope that helped!!!!!!!!!
