Marketing Question

I have a question on house washing. I am going to venture into this because of chemical I have now that has a vinyle protectant which when it is applied to vinyle siding, it keeps the green algae off the vinyle for more than 12months. I did a buddy house 1 1/2yrs. ago, which his vinyle was white but the algae had made it totally green in less than 8 months. It still has no green on it. How would you go about marketing this, and how would you put it into a gaurantee? Thanks.

You could just put it on the invoice, just write 1 year guarantee on mold not returning or 1.5 years, etc.... It would be a hard thing to upsell as most people here don't wash their homes every year, usually 2-5 years and some have never had their homes washed.

Just think about it for a minute, You want to guarantee you will not be back there to help them again for so long?

What if there was a teflon coating that could be installed into the duct, vents and on the fan blades that grease would not stick to along with the filters, all the grease would either blow out of the system or just slide down into the grease containers. What would that do to your income?

What do you think a guarantee on siding would to to your income or other people's income. Down here, there have been lots of things tried, stuff online, in stores, etc... Down here in the high humidity, salt air from the Gulf of Mexico, it is just a maintenance cleaning every so often. Lots of products say that they can do this and that and you spend your money but it is another thing you just threw money away on. Maybe in certain climates it might work but here, nothing has worked so far.

You have to be careful of what you ask for because you might not like the end result when you get it.

What if enough restaurant owners complained about the cost all the time and wanted a better solution?

What if Teflon coated ducts were developed so they could just put the filters into the dish washer and clean them or just rinse them off with hot water from the sink?

What if the vents could be cleaned from the top down using an employee using a garden hose and their hot water from the roof down since the grease does not stick to teflon?

You have to be careful of what you ask or wish for.

The right wish might put a lot of people out of work, or dramatically reduce their income and then it is back to a regular job or something worse.

well, I live only 40 minutes from the gulf and five minutes to the Bay. Well, the thing with teflon on the ducts, and hoods would not be feasible what so ever, since heat would destroy it and the grease compound would break it down after time. House washing and kitchen exhaust cleaning are in two complete separate catagories as far as business goes.

The experience of washing one house is not enough to determine the long-term effectiveness of any product. We have a lot of humidity in my area and houses usually stay clean for 1 to 2 years. If I guaranteed them clean for 1 year, I can guarantee that in 11 months, 29 days, my phone would be ringing.
