My wife designed a new logo and I would like to know what files are needed for website and graphics.

Check out logodesignpros.com, it cost me 100 dollars for mine, with unlimited revisions. Also got all fie formats jpeg, png, gif, pds, ai, eps. everything you woud need for shirts, trailer. hats, website, well worth the money, also included was formats for letterhead, buz cards and envelopes.

PNG is generally considered best because it isnt supposed to degrade with resizing...

Rance, put your business card in a fish bowl (or something equally as transparent). Have your wife draw the card from the "fish bowl". If you're the lucky winner, I'll convert your [wife's] graphic to any format you need for free.

OH! Be sure to video the drawing and post it here so everyone can see it was a fair drawing.

PNG is generally considered best because it isnt supposed to degrade with resizing...

You may be thinking of Vector graphics, which don't degrade with resizing. PNGs are Raster graphics and will degrade with resizing.
