I'm doing Pavers for the first time tomorrow and i plan on using my surface cleanerAnd down streaming a house wash mix with about 4-6 ounces f F13 to help with some black spotsIn an area on the Pavers I guess came from car tire or light oilSo my question is1 surface cleaner should be good right?2 f13 is ok to use?3 house wash ok to use?I can also use hot water I ave the option

Ok did the pavers today and it was a lot harder then I expected. Laid down some strong house wash let dwell and hit it with a surface cleaner. A lot of muddy water the pavers were not sealed and not cleaned in a long time so there was mud every where
I also learned a lesson I used oxalic on a decent sized
Rust spot I scrubbed with a hard brush on my knees
And the rust came out but thAt are wS brighter then the rest of the pavers. My lesson learned is if your going to
Use the ox you have do down stream the entire project

You shouldn't use Ox on pavers at all if you ask me. It will dis-color the pavers evertime. Next time use Super Iron Out or 1 Restore... both lightly and rinse off fast... repeat the process a couple times. The muddy water is from the sand inside the pavers. It is a good idea to have a couple bags of sand or polymeric sand depending on the pavers on the truck to re-sand some areas when it dries. We do a lot of paver cleaning out here. As far as removing tire marks, hot water should do the trick w some degreaser.

Better luck next time. You only learn from practice. Now you know.

Can I do anything to fix it, I drove by today and it looks like a white stain where I scrubbed the rust out
I was thinking of down steaming the oxalic on the rest of the Pavers to even it out
I'm not happy with the result as is

Yes Doug, it looks like spilled milk. You think soap and hot water with the surface cleaner may help ?

Don't use the surface cleaner, but mix some soap and water in a pump up sprayer, wet the paver's first with water, a light spray just to get them moist, then spray the soap and water on, brush it in with a street broom then rinse with light pressure using an adjustable wand or black soap tip. May have to repeat a couple times. Sounds like you put the Ox on when the pavers were dry and then didn't rinse quick enough.

This soap and water application worked for me when I did that a few years ago. Hope it works out for you. Call me if you need too.

Bingo Doug
It was the end of the job and The Pavers dried and I could see the rust, so I wet that area and put the ox down with
Scrub brush and the rust disappeared. I was so proud of myself thinking what a professional job because everything else
Came out awesome. And you know the rest of the story.
I told the women when she opens her pool I'll come back and clean the cement where the cover was and I'll try what you said on the Pavers

Thank you

Ty,,
I did those rusty Pavers today and used the super iron out, it worked real nice
There was so much rust I filled up a bucket with 2 gallons of water and 2 healthy scoops
Of iron out. It would fizz like alka seltzer then I brushed it on let it sit and hit it with heat and the surface cleaner
I had to repeat a few times but it did work great

Thanks I owe you....
Now he wants to seal the Pavers, I wish I took a seal n lock course
