Just the unloader fried or do you think it's the pump?

My husband broke the news to me today that our pump was run dry for 5 minutes or so this past week. Apparently they were up at 80 feet and were not paying attention to the water, by the time he realized what he'd done it took some time to get down and get the machine turned off.

This unloader is brand new, it was already pulsating like crazy before they left town, but now he can't get the pressure to go above 2000 PSI.

What do you think, is it just a matter of replacing the unloader or have they damaged the pump?

I've starved mine of water for almost 20 minutes once, thought the pump was a goner.

Good thing for me I use Cat pumps (it has nine lives) and the best pump out there in my experience.

I'd say it's probably not the unloader, more likely fried seals. Still a pretty easy fix.

Thank you guys, I'll ask him to check those before he puts in a new unloader :)

Seals are something he can reach and change himself? I know that he can do most work, but not all of it. It's a general pump.

I apologize for not putting in the pump info, I assumed that trouble shooting these issues were kind of universal:) You know what assume did I guess, made an A** out of U and ME!

lol

Thanks again, and thank you Doug for the phone call.
