Is this it with the 8gpm injection ? Brief overview/review of and thanks to bill pws

So I got my 8gpm water dragon and it's awesome, starts nicely (hell of a lot better then my Kohler ch740), that udor pump is a BEAST, the whole built quality of the cart I got is/looks top notch and so far looks like I will be very happy with this purchase.
Big huge thanks to Bill from PWS, he managed to get this unit shipped out for me very take Friday afternoon while he was in another state - honestly thought myself now way and yet he pulled it off. Bill responds to calls text and email nice and quickly.

Now I will sing the usual song of injection, so far with the 8gpm injector I got 19-1 and with the 3-5gpm injector I got 15/16-1 this was done open gun do tips at all , should I also try an even smaller injector ? While I do have a fb roof setup and an xjet it would be quite nice to just downstream on most jobs.

I have read here I think about putting the injector not right at the pump but at say a 4+ feet away jumper hose - does that actually improve injection ratio ?
Throttling down did not seem to do anything ...

I don't have an answer to your question but I would worry that a 3-5gpm injector would be forcing 8gpm through a small enough orifice to cause a pressure spike at the pump exceeding the pump rating. I might be wrong though.

If your unloader is set right, the spike will get bypassed at the set point. I use a 3-5 gpm injector on my 10 gpm machine all day long. As a matter of fact, when I come across a spigot that just wont produce 10 gpms, I turn my injector bypass to soap, turn the soap off with a 1/4 " ball valve and run my machine at 7 gpms. Basically using the injector to bypass a few gallons so I don't run out of water. You need an unloader that can handle that though.

The less restriction the better your draw. Back pressure is the thing that turns your injector on and off. You will get the best draw by using the injector after hose reel and all that. Just not feasible for me, so I use a smaller injector. For best results get an injector bypass.

Ok thanks guys for your replies, will make it work somehow , thinking to try the Alison super suds sucker next to see if I can get closer to 10-1 or even 12-1 would be good instead of 19-1... if not there is always xjet...

You can spend all the money you have and will ever make but most injectors will not pull the ratios that they advertise, tried a lot of them and none ever pulled the magical ratio that they advertised. Read the posts here on PWI about injectors and other chemical application methods and you will have some great knowledge and know what to do when in certain situations. Many, many threads going back over a decade about injectors and application methods to help you if you read them.

Like all problems it got personal when it happened to me. I still don’t know why but all of sudden all /3 of my machines in different rigs stopped drawing about the same time or more frustrating drawing intermittent. I tried changing injectors, checked flow direction, modifying springs , removed filters, read all the posts, bought 2 super sudz one being the SS “deluxe edition,” bought some injectors locally, nothing fixed the problem. My employees were really crybabies about it and for sure it was a major PITA all summer. Power Wash Store to the rescue Dan hooked me up with their injectors suggested I go with the 3-5 gallon on my 8 gallon machines as well as my 5.5 which like all have said what a machine is rated is not what it is. Long story short Problem fixed works great! There is no better feeling than when that soap starts drawing at about 20 seconds when it supposed to. My take away the Hot Shots my get better draw rates fine tuning some things but the bullet proof method is Power Wash Stores 3-5gallon injectors on all machines.

Been working and testing most of today and so far pretty happy to say the least, sh+ quality soap makes a huge difference between sh + gain ...

One thing I do not like when using the soft tips/40 (will get 60 and 60 to try) is the kick back, I read on here that k7 unloaded is better and no pressure in hose... when you do not pull the trigger - does that mean that there is no kick back when you pull the trigger ? As the pressure builds up once you do pull the trigger ? ( I do get it it's probably like a second delay in pressure ??? )

Will try the Alison sss injector though all in all very happy with the results so far .

The water dragon not a hick up all day.

I do understand that the 20% advertise is far from the truth but we r getting 1/4 of the advertised draw rate and that's a bit of overkill misleading. ..

Been spending many many hours on the board the last few days, as much as I can during the day and till I fall asleep at night. .. have been reading for over a year maybe longer thou just now started digging more and trying different ways to use the search and found many treads with lots of info that I was unable to find before...

I do like to thinker on my equipment and toys so will find a way to make this new pw work as best as it can just have to give it time... did expect this so no shocker here ...
