How much?

Here's one we did yesterday. It was pretty steep, but all in a days work. What does this roof go for in your town, honestly? 2516sq (including garage) nothing special around back, it did have some pretty good pine straw build up on the gutter screens. We did'nt have to cover anything and it took us almost 2 hours (hustling) from the time we pulled up till we reeled up the last hose. The call came from the yellow pages and the h/o got 3 estimates. The houses in this nieghborhood sell in high 2's to low 3's, this one is for sale @ $299,000. The estimate was given in late December and business was so-so for us. This is also in the normal area where we clean regularly, no extensive travel time to consider.

Can you guys come down here and sell for me? 10-15ct/sq is average on asphalt shingle roofs of any size around here.

I wish I could do roofs at that price all the time. Our average is about $200 -$250.The steeper it is the more I charge. You do a lot more on volume than I can ever get here, you should be up here teaching me how to sell.

So how much was it? IMO, as someone that has never done this, as a potential consumer my "perceived value" for this job would be less than the $600-$650 mentioned. I'd probably say as a consumer, my perceived value for this job would be $325-$375. Obviously, perceived value has nothing to do with how much something costs.....it's just a good # to have in mind. If you guys can get $625 for what Aselton did in 2hrs, that's some pretty nice $$!!

Tallahassee has a population of about 250-275,000 people, so it is a pretty good size town. We clean a bunch of roofs, but I am not the busiest roof cleaner in town. Chris is the salesman, I do pretty good though.

Props to Aselton---I've been reading more and more about roofs to try and be educated.....check out the front brick on the house. All of it is wet from the ground up to about 4'......someone was down there keeping the Green wet! Just happened to notice that in the pic.

$325 is what we got for this one, and I was probably the high bid. That's about 13ct/sq or 10ct/sq if you add for pitch, we tend to stay at about that. Some roofs take a lot more time to clean and the price will reflect that. That was a pretty good guess Jon.

Let me rephrase,My quote would have been in the 600 range.I havent been closing as many as I would like lately and have been told a few times I'm to high.Perhaps I'll come down a little.(just a little)

If you can get it, get it. Roof cleaning is dangerous work and chems, equipment, advertising, help, and insurance isn't cheap. We can only get 10 - 15ct on most, but your market may be different.

I appreciate it, I enjoy washing.

Enjoying what you do and making good $$$. Cant ask for more than that!!!!!!

I say $2000.00 and I'll throw in a free house wash and give the guys wife a back rub ( if she's any good looking) LOL:eek:

About $400-$475
