Home Heating Oil

Can I transfer Home heating oil from one tank to another with my Delvan Roof pump and not damage it?

Not the pump or the heating oil lol.If you had an air pump like the all-flo i would say go for it.Not sure on that pump you have.

The Santoprene diaphragm is a "d" rated material for diesel oil #2 and a "c" against kerosene so I would not use it but.... you can buy one of those 2 gpm pumps for under $40 and use one of those to transfer the fuel. It will last long enough for that and probably longer. Don't put your money maker at risk and ti already have a tough time with the chems that are flowing through it.

Thanks for the info.

Which oil are you using to heat your home?

Diesel (#2 oil) ?

Kerosene?

#6 oil ?

I would buy an inexpensive delavan type of pump and keep it dedicated for that use only, I would not try using it for any other purposes as the diesel residue can stain all kinds of surfaces if the pump is not flushed out properly and the seals might not last long.

They do sell pumps for diesel but they are usually about $100 or so at Northern tool and other suppliers.
