Hiring a Salesperson?

Anyone ever hire a salesman? What were your rusults?

Is there any type of "freelance" sales people out there? I mostly need them to do cold calling and very few customer appointments(if any).

I just don't have the time to do everything, and I know I lack sales skills.

Everett, I know your companies share one.

Yes, we do share one and he has been an unbelievable asset! Try a help wanted ad for "part-time sales" and you may get some replies for what you need. It is a great compliment that you can identify and admit your weakness in sales skills. This way you can get the right person you need to make your company better. My compliments to you. One of my franchisees has a person who does estimating and sales. Some contractors don't like to give up the estimating because that IS your income. However for this particular contractor it does work. If I can be of help give me a shout. I am sure others will have some good ideas also, good luck.

How did the salesman work-out?

Have you ever use the services of a Telemarketer?

i am trying to get my husband to hire a salesman or cold caller- any suggestions on how much to pay?

Pay 'em on commission.. It's an incredible motivator and the income can be awesome.

I use a commission basis of 4% for repeat work and 10% on new and the first cleaning. This has worked very well. Depending on the volume of cleaning you may want to supplement this with a salary, especially in the beginning as it takes time to build up a clientele. It is common that a proposal will return a call for service a year later.
