What a mess!! It looks like every thread ever started there has been spammed by that porn site. I hope Beth can fix that annoying problem.

Are you talking about those spams for making your john henry larger and viagra in the mail? I wondered where that was coming from. On the other hand, she is advertising she will be stripping in Vegas, I know and you know, but they have equipment that picks up on all that stuff -literally.
No indy teh spam is because someone is visiting porns sites on your puter. I dont think e-mail is affected.

I forward all junk/spam to California Attorney General's Office, they have a unit that goes after those people and if it is sexual in nature or asking for money all the more so.
I get an average of 12 plus a day, and it grows worst too.

That situaton had developed into a common problem for alot of bulleitn boards lately. I am taking steps to prevent it from happening here.

I have nothing against porn for those that need/want it but it is not my thing.
Seems even the newspapers publish junk like make it bigger, harder etc. nowadays. Is there no end to it?
I also get a lot of make money fast, send to me, I retired at 30 etc.

The issue has been fixed for at least a week. I fixed it before we went to PWNA, in fact it was addressed within 48 hours of the problem.
I upgraded the BBS, and it's "spam proof".
What happens is, some older versions are vulnerable to the BOTs going out and finding the BBS's, then they register and about a week later you get hit. VBulletin was very helpful. The sites hosting the BOT's have also been blocked for extra protection.
New members now have a visual verification they have to enter by hand. This is what stops the BOTs from logging on. (machine driven not human driven)
Rest assured that temporary and embarrasing hickup is past us.
As for the "stripping" comment, it had nothing to do with anything except product.

Most of your defense on this comes from the host, I host PWI and have blocks for porno in place.
The site will be on a new wireless 2 gig server in a few days. will see what happens.... its should move faster and better.
My own sites i hope will also work faster than others.
we will only have about three or four sites on the server where others have hundreds.
