ashpalt

Having worked on asphalt barges for 4 years I did learn that ashpalt is oil. Oil, Oil, Oil, and you want to remove oil from oil. You will have to use your imagination for this one. Sorry if I have not been any help.

The best that you are going to be able to do is to remove the surface oils. In order to do that you will not be able to use your pressure washer. You will need to use a dry product, such as, Portland cement, Kitty litter, Pave Clean, etc. I would not let stay on the spot forever, but I would let it have some good absorption time.

Oil spots tend to collect dirt, and that is often the unsightly part that people want removed. The best you may be able to do is remove the surface dirt, be careful the oil tends to soften the asphalt, and your pressure washer can do more harm than good under those conditions.
Do a test spot, maybe that will be enough for your customer.

Asphalt Cleaning

There is a product that will take oil out of asphalt. It is called "Gator Wash." It is a microbial(living organism) product designed to eat oil and grease without any harm. Call me and I will explain how the product works.
