I gave a price of 550 to a guy in a shore town by me for a house wash fence cleaning ( both sides) and a deck wash.
I was already going to be in the town so I figured no real windshield time and I cut the guy a break to do it the same day. Original price was 700.00. When I told the guy 550 you would have thought I just shot his 1st born. He immediately got upset with me and said thanks for the estimate and that my price was out of this world high. I went on to ask him what price he had in mind ( just to see where he was at mentally) his reply was I don't know but I do know that your crazy high priced.
I kindly thanked him and told him good luck finding someone that is licensed and insured for less.
Prior to me giving him his quote he had explained to me that it would take him all weekend to complete this work. I guess his time is not as valuable as 550.00.
Now I would not have gone down any less than my number even if said can you do 450 I would have said no. Some people just don't realize the cost of doing business nor do they care. To me those are not the customers I want anyway. I want the ones who see the real value in hiring a professional that is dedicated to his trade and able to provide high quality results.
Powerful stuff
