Does water and aluminum create electrolysis which binds mold to the gutter? If so, how can I get mold treaks off gutters? My 3400 psi 4gpm unit does not seem to be pulling much detergent. Any suggestions? Lastly, I use a chemical tip from Pressure tek. It also sprays 30+ feet. I cannot reach the top of a 2nd story house. Without using a ladder , any suggestions.

Butyl based degreasers work best on black gutter streaks. There are some mild detergents on the market (Krud kutter, Purple Power, etc.) or contact a chemical distributor for industrial strength stuff.

Also, even though downstreaming or x-jetting may get your chems on and off faster, often the more effective method may include some brushing. We use an extension with either a brush w/ chems applied to the brush or use the flow through brush extension on our pole. Some of the more aggressive cleaners can cause more problems running down the house or dripping on the vegetation during dwell time than using what may seem like a more labor intensive measure.

It's called electrostatic bonding. And yes you need a black streak remover as mentioned above by Russ.

What Russ and Beth said. Also sometimes you just have to get a long extension handle and brush those dirty buggers. Just don't get it in your eye.
