GOT Gum Photos? Removing Gum properly Pressure washing

Here's what one of my KEC accounts did to their sidewalks, with a Home Cheapo style cold water pressure washer.

Nick, how many years since that was done? Never?

They told me it has only been a year...LOL... I told them it was a year 1991..
We had to walk away from a bunch of centers up there, it would have been impossible to make any money at it..

I use a 5 degree tip ( Gum Buster ) and I can remove gum real easy.. Then I go over it with the suface cleaner.. I especially like removing the cinnamon and spearmint gum because it adds a good smell to the air at 4 am in the morning...
I have a account that I clean the inside concrete floor once a month and I actually have to get gum up ... The nerve of some people just throwing their gum everywhere.. even inside a restaurant..

Oh by the way they are out in full force in Jackson this week.. The guys with the Husky Elec pressure washers from home depot.. Saw a guy cleaning Chick Fil A yesterday... I sometimes wonder if its the restaurant owners that are cheap or if they feel sorry for the guy in the 1972 toyota corolla with the Home Depot elec machine... Wonder what he charges to make all those 0 degree tip lines in the drive thru ??? Could this be a new form of drive thru art ??

Freezing would be awfully expensive. the freezing sprays are $10 bucks plus a can. and you would have to do only a couple at a time or they would thaw and defeat the purpose. Get hot water.

My helper here got ahead of the washer. He was arabic. I think this says 'Death To America.' but he says it was 'Death to Gum."

WOW Jon Thats too funny..

You Still alive Pat?

Pat is still around. He was at the ATL roundtable.

As for the gum...You should see the sidewalks in the lines for rides at Six Flags Over GA. Horrible.

And Pat...I think one of those pieces of gum are mine :) Stuck one on a pole in Charleston before I left!

More gum

Perfect example of why I clean the concrete first then remove gum, sometimes there is gum under the caked on dirt or stains. Then you don't have all those wand marks since you used a surface cleaner then wand the gum.

Thats pretty gross, but then it is Cali...

When you guys remove gum....
Do you remove the gum first, then use surface cleaner or visa-versa?
Does it make a differance? What are your thoughts on it?

I always Surface clean and then remove gum. Powerwashing is the best way to remove gum.

What tip do you guys use for gum?
@ What GPM is gum removed faster?
@ What Temp do remove gum with?
Do you pretreat gum with any "top secret" chems?

I use a 15 and a soap nozel on a dual lance, to adjust the pressure
8gpm and 4gpm
and I set the therm. @ 245* so Im guessing about 180*-190*
