I really like my 05' Dodge Quadcab Longbed 3/4 ton truck.
My brother had a chipper truck full to the roof with chips and logs and chipper connected to it. One of the guys drove it with the parking brake on one day and burned out the clutch. I pulled it with my truck no problem.
When he took the truck over the scales, the weight of the chips and logs in the truck was over 4.5 tons and the weight of the chipper I am not sure of but with the weight of all that I was amazed that my truck would pull it as easy as it did and that was a little over idle, like at 1100 rpm's to move it down the road a little bit.
When pulling my trailer full of water it is around 6700 pounds, I average around 14 to 18 mpg on the highway. Empty I average 20-23 mpg on the highway. I really like the mileage compared to a gasoline truck. My GMC 3/4 ton longbed only would get around 10 mpg on the highway. It really sucked pulling that trailer.
