Does anyone use rubber gloves whill working. If so what is a good brand and where can I find some. I use rubber gloves when I wash trucks because of the harsh chemicals but thay always end up breaking open. My hands get dried out and very sore after washing.

Mark, I usually get my gloves from Northern Supply. They have the best price Ive found. Buy them from their catalog and you will get a good dz price and free shipping if you buy enough. I like the PVC flock lined 12" or 14". Sometime I use a latex liner. Those flock lined gloves get funky smellin after a while.

I use leather gloves. Sometimes insulated gloves. How do your hands get dry and sore? My hands rarely get wet washing. Any gloves that are comfortable for you to wear will suffice.

You use rubber gloves because of harsh chemicals. Mark, don't you use Glory? How are you applying this? In my opinion you don't use harsh chemicals at all and certainly not enough to wear rubber gloves. We 2 step in shorts and no gloves in the summer. I know for a fact my chems are.. (harsher) than those you are using.

Maybe Mark it's not the gloves at all. Maybe you should look into washing a little differently. Maybe there's a better method.... but what do I know.

I rarely wear gloves Mark. Most of the time we do little brushing and I have a method of applying chemicals so that gloves are not needed during a wash. Your hands with my system will rarely get wet... therefore enabling us to wear any gloves we choose that are comfortable.

There is far less overspray of chemicals through a downstream injection as apposed to upstream high pressure. Hands stay relatively dry and chems don't bother them. When brushing, then some rubber gloves would work. They have them available at Grainger. Rainsuits are also available there. In the winter, I use the leather gloves with insulation. Good comfortable ones. Jerseys work also.

Justin , I think Mark is looking for a glove for safety sake, not to keep his pinkies warm. But I cant speak for him. I personally dont like getting my hands dirty. And having them exposed to harsh chemicals is dangerous and tough on the skin. Also it doesnt set a very good example for employees. Ive had WC claims from chemical burns. There seems to be no end to treatment. Also HF goes right thru the skin and attacks your bones. I prefer to error on the side of safety.
Justin , I have a question about leather gloves. Do they get wet and hold chemical? Do they dry out and shrink between uses?

Justin, the soap that I use dries out my hands when the gloves I use break. I have to change tips from chemical to wash and the gloves sometimes break. I dont always put on a new set.

Yes Justin there is a better way I could be washing.

I told you why I have to do what Im doing with this account.

I also said I will set my truck up to be able to 2 step down the road. I'm still going to do this but with winter coming and only this one account bring in money, its going to take sometime to get the money for a set-up...... But what do I know.

:p

Hello Mark,

We use a 14" gaunlet PVC glove made by Memphis. It is jersey lined and we also launder them. They have a rough finish on the palm and fingers. We turn the end to make a cuff so liquids don't run down your arm. We use a cotton glove insert if the extra insulation is needed (kinda tight thou).

We buy the PVC gloves 6 dozen at a time.
