General liability insurance

Chris- what kind of coverage do you have for your equipment?

If I remember correctly, I have either $15,000 or $18,000 for equipment and trailer covered.

I have only had a few insurance companies since I started out on my own and all have had my equipment covered. The past 4 or 5 years I have checked with other agencies to see if I can get better rates but so far for the business/equipment Nationwide has them all beat except for State Farm, last year I got a quote for about $380 less I think but they dropped the ball when I was about to do the policy for 2014-2015 so I stayed with Nationwide.

State Farm here in Texas just started doing business insurance last year so I checked with them and got a great price, hopefully next year they will have their act together and I will probably switch over to them, right now they have my house and trucks so if I move the business/equipment over there are other discounts available so I should save a little bit more money by having everything over there.

Earlier today I was paying on the truck insurance and had the agent call corporate about the "flood plain" issue that Joe Walters claims I live in and they have no idea what I am talking about and have no problem insuring my equipment against loss, theft, fire, flood, etc.... so I am not sure what the joe walters is talking about or trying to do but they will not insure my equipment so I stick with the reputable company that I have been with for many years now, Nationwide.

chris - what are you paying if i may ask?

I am paying $1500 or $1600 and change for the equipment insurance and 2 mil on the business.

State Farm beat that price but dropped the ball when it was time to renew but I might be switching over next year.

I use them for my commercial auto as well.
I filed a claim last summer when a tree fell and took out the hood, grill and headlight on my truck. Prompt and easy to deal with. I've never filed a damage claim from a job. (Knock on wood)

They do commercial auto too??? no one told me that!
