On a job Monday night I lost pressure thinking prehaps I had busted a fitting or feed hose when I moved my tank on saturday I decided tuesday I would buy all new hoses and fittings to rule those out. With the newall installed I fired the machine up to find I still had no pressure. I turned my attention to the Interpump WS202(general TS2021) with the machine running I could hear something rattling in the crank case. For the 1st in 12 years and almost 18,000 hours the pump was seperated from the skid. After pulling the check valves and finding they were in good shape I moved to seals and packings.Nothing major other than cracked restops. Next stop was the crank cases....jackpot!!!! A connecting rod cap had come loose and broke into 4 pieces. 1 bolt was chewed up and another completely eaten by the pump. Several year ago a fellow contractor gave me an old TS2021 for parts. I robbed the TS2021 of the crank case end cap, crank shaft cover, and 2 connecting rod caps. With everything bolted back together I started the machine again.Woohoo I had full pressure again. This is the 1st time I've ever been this far into a pump (the WS202) got new seals and packings about 6 years ago. Was it hard to work on? No just time consuming since it was the 1st time I opened a pump this much. And yes you read right our skid is 12 years old has close to 18,000 hours on it and still runs strong. Would I like a new skid and trailer?....absolutely,but funds don't allow for it and this machine isn't ready for the bone yard just yet.
