I think all of you guys are making alot bigger deal out of this thread than what it really is!!! I go all over the country hauling reclaimed water, my guys get stopped by the DOT atleast twice a month and I have never had a problem with anything related to filtered WASTE WATER!!!!!!!!!!! All of you guys cryin about having to spend alot of money for reclaim equipment need to get out of the business!!!!!!! All the big guys have it, ME, JIM, AL ect and many others. but you dont here us cryin about it all we are worried about is makin $$$$$$$$$!!!!!!! As for equipment I prolly have as much as anyone around but guess what I do what I have to do to make $$$ no questions asked so If you guys dont like it why dont ya'll go do some Jawn maint or something thats alittle less demanding on your pocketbooks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And leave AL alone he is prolly more of a good guy than anyone on her (Including me)! He is always trying to be good to everyone!!!
 
Bradley, I dont think anyone is picking on Al, I just re read all the post and there are some intresting arguements, all good points too, I just feel that some concerns are justified, if you just want to run your equipment all the time when its not needed there is no need to pay attention to the laws but having the right equipment does not make you a good contractor or keep you within the limits of the law.

Everyone needs to understand the law so they can clean correctly, just because I may have the equipment does not mean I know when, where and how to use it.
(I do have reclaim by the way and I was just over there near the area in question and its a needed discussion for everyone) Ignorance of the law is not an excuse.

You're right about one thing, Al is a good guy.

You, may be also, but if you are you appear to be a good guy who is full of BS. You don't even have DOT numbers on your trucks!! I'm sure you get pulled over twice a month. That's just plain BS.

How much money do you want to spend? Do you want a few of us to start making phone calls to the DOT and local government in your service area inquiring about how many gallons of waste water you are allowed to haul without massive fines? Are you licensed to work in every municipality you work in? Do you have a business license for every county you complete work in? Just a little nudging in the wrong direction and your entire operation could be shut down and quick.

There are plenty of guys on here who aren't interested in travelling all over kingdom come cleaning for a penny a foot for a company that would drop them in a second if someone came along at half a cent a foot. Just because you chose that market doesn't mean you can preach to the ones who didn't.

So I'd suggest you use a tall stool to help you step down off your high horse, work on a little humility and once you're out of puberty you'll be a good respected guy like Al.
 
Whether or not you get pulled over for Dot is really not the issue of the thread.

I have been pulled over I think 4 or 5 times in 20 years. Never got fined or even warned. Just wanted to make sure I was not over the weight limit and was not leaking fluid as they brought out the portable scales to weigh my trailers.

We all agree that Al is a GREAT guy. And yes, it appears that the threads have been aggressive at times, not to Al, but about what he had to do.

Everyone is concerned about these laws that may or may not affect your business. Some areas are more restrictive than others and that's a fact.

I and others see and have experience profits due to these requirements. Some are afraid of change. Others think it's another way for the Government to make money or get into your lives. THOUGH ALL OF THIS has some merit, the fact is that more and more states are heading into this direction. Russ is a good example. Last year he never would of thought about reclamation. Now he is and making more money from it. ( That is a respectful comment).

Tony is my friend, though we do not see eye to eye on this... AND THATS OK! . His industry dose not need to reclaim in this point in time and may never need to reclaim. However some industries do. Mine for example is one of them. And though we may not all agree on some issues, everyone has to realize that some types of pressure washing needs to reclaim while other fields do not.

It is not the pressure washer that needs to be reclaiming, it is the "by product" as a result from that pressure washing. ( Example, Tony's industry and Mine ).
 
Jim, I respect what you do and I respect what Bradley does. You know that.

But for Bradley to insinuate that contractors who aren't willing or aren't required to spend unnecessary money on reclaim are inferior or need to "get out of the business" is childish and disrespectful to everyone else.

Jim, take a close look at Bradley's post. Even though your posts were not "in your face" like that, your posts used to hint at that type of condescension. I know you didn't mean it to be like that, but that is why you've had so much trouble. A combination of your being sensitive to that and people getting to know you has just about erased that negative connotation.

But there's a new Sheriff in town and he goes by "Wetfoot"! :p

I am sure they would even take donations from some of you Good O'le Boys.

Al is hosting the first annual carwash/reclaim/gospel meeting Roundtable! :D

Just step right out of the baptistry onto the reclaim mat. The Lord can wash your sins away, but Al will vacuum them, filter them, and put them in the landfill where they belong! :D

I'd better not joke about that, some scam artist will pick the idea up and run with it and go around ripping churches off by selling them sin filters. :p

All of you guys are too much!!!!! Im a powerwashing contractor not a english teacher, but I have heard more cryin, and stories about poor poor pitiful me on here than anywhere!!
And by the way I dont need to spend dad's $$$ I have my own!!!!! And you talk to me like I am a child, I Have 4 successful businesses at the age of 25, so I would like to think im one step ahead of atleast some of you guys!!! But you will never here me complain about how I have to make $$$!!! Any way you all have a good day and Keep The Arguing going!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
