Fire hydrant fill kit

Any one know where I can purchase a fire hydrant fill kit for my tank?

I did a job this week and i started off with the local fire chief he put me in contact with a city worker they brought all the stuff out to me.Completed the job and payed my water bill and that was that pretty smooth.Hydrants fill tanks mucho rapido.

I use PVC. It works really well, and I have not had to replace one yet. It is cheap, and effective.

I would also use pvc if I had to make a large fill for the tank, easy to find, easy to put together and does not cost much.

I do it the same way as William does. I almost broke my skinny little wrist a few times with the larger hoses trying to fill the tanks. Much faster but not worth the injury.

2 1/2 inch fill hose put's 600gal in the tank in 3 min if you hold on tight, 6 min if your a twat...lol....This will run a 8gpm and 10gpm for 30 min drop hoses from quick disconnects and start over...rinse and repeat. Always stay in compliance and have a meter.

ditto
only where legally done of course.

That's fine if you want to stop working to go to the hydrant to fill up every 30 minutes. I prefer for my guys to to keep working:)

When we ran the road we ran (2) 8gpm and (1) 10gpm staying hooked to the hydrant did not give us much more time for all the hose I would have to lay out. I would still run low in 45/50 min hooked to the hydrant? so dropping the lines and filling then hooking the lines and proceeding took all of 5/6 min. Most centers only took 5/6 fills so the extra 25/30 min was not a problem. We all do things different and for me thats what was easier and quicker, I would have 400 ft of 3/4 inch water hose out there and by the time the water got to my tank the flow was way down.

We run a 4 way spicket off hydrant and it keeps 4-6 machines running

But in some municipalities they dont let you hook up that way and you have to have a seperate PVC hook up that drops the water into the tank. Its to prevent terrorist from back washing poison into the water system

I think Guy B has a picture of his rig with that set up
