Filter washing machine

Filter Washer

A filter washing machine can be built using a square vat with racks that are removable. You will install bulkhead fittings to allow for inlet and discharge of your heated solution. To the vat you will attach a 400,000 BTU heater and a hi-temp re-circulating pump. The vat will be filled with chemical and water. This system will heat and re-circulate the water/chemical mixture. You will need to add filters to filter the solution before it is recirculated. The filters will be placed on the racks which are lowered into the vat using an overhead lifting device such as a cable type hoist. The size of the tank will determine the number of filters that can be cleaned at one time. after the filters are removed from the cleaning tanks they should be rinsed with a low pressure (1500 psi) pressure washer. If you are starting a filter exchange business you should be able to keep up with the business using this type of cleaning device. For specifics you may contact me at 1-800-433-2113.

Well sure, if you want to go and get all fancy about it!

Larry-

In your experience, using a setup similar to what you have described, what is the price range per filter cleaned?

Are the filters standard size or do they come in all shapes and sizes?

What is the cost per unit to operate this set up?

Thanking you in advance!

Filter Washer

Filters are different sizes. The washer described is for the on going operation of a filter exchange business. The cost of cleaning each filter will depend on the person operating the equipment. This type of equipment is used by larger companys who do a high volume of filter cleaning. A smaller company wouldn't benefit from this set-up.

Filter exchange business

Hey Larry,

What is the average charge to a customer on a filter exchange program? How often do you go in to the business to exchange filters?
Just curious, thinking about adding the service to my business.

Larry-

Just a quick update. We have moved into a 6000 square foot shop. In addition to the pressure washing services, we also have a full service shop to repair equipment and a retail store with all the equipment parts and accessories for the pressure washing industry.

One of the services we offer is a sort of filter exchange program. The main difference is the filters we clean are for industrial applications and are made from specialty materials. These filters cost several hundred dollars to replace.

I would be interested in cleaning kitchen exaust filters if the profit margins justify adding another full time employee.

Thanks

Russ
