Employees Needed/Jobs Available

I've been listening to the hurricane coverage on NPR as I clean and restock vehicles. Sounds as if one of the long term problems may be the total destruction of the infrastructure, and of business. People are leaving the area because of the lack of services, jobs, business.

Many of us owning our businesses have had dificulty in finding qualified people to fill positions, allowing us to expand. This may be an opportunity to benefit some of the people leaving the New Orleans and ourselves. But I have no idea how to contact any of those who may be interested in looking elswhere for jobs. If there are those of us who are located in LA or ALA who could help in this endeavor, please post the information.

Check with the red cross. They are sending people all over for temporary housing. Our church is one of them. And yes! There are plenty of fathers that are there not knowing what to do or where to start. If you find one of those places, it might be a good place to start. Here in Tallahassee, like I said, a church, also a closed department store are holding people. If you see a vacant building with busses out front, even old school busses, ask around. Try to talk to someone in charge.

Did it work? Many have relocated to our area. It would be nice to have available trained help on a temporary or permanent basis.
 
[/U]Another busload has unloaded in our town. Perhaps we should suggest they travel a bit farther and unload in Baker City where jobs are plentiful?
 
The jobs are not plentiful, but there is a need for an experienced hood cleaner or two. I could also use an experienced extinguisher, special hazard, sprinkler tech.

I did place an add on craigslist, but no response. Do you suppose the computers and internet service were blown away by the wind and waves?
