I have all the GPS and laptop latests but the best way to have employees that act like the owner is to empower them and pay them a salary.
My guys get the same pay for a 6 hr day or a 10 hr day because they are on salary.
I don't care how long they take to do a job because it costs me the same money no matter what.
They get a great salary, full health benifits, uniforms, vacation and paid holidays. In return they work their butts off and do outstanding work. The quality is as if I was there myself.
I frequently check jobs they've done by actual inspection or followup phone calls. The results are always the same, excellent.
In this buisness you get what you pay for as a customer and an employer.
Any low baller or new guy can get one or two jobs but his quality is never the same as ours and the customer, having watched our DVD, we gave them with the estimate knows it.
Anybody can spray water, goof off, wreck your truck, work drunk ect. Pay more give benifits and treat them like partners and you'll get much better results.
