DS Injector Stopped Drawing

My DS Injector stopped drawing after only about 3 weeks. It makes a whistling sound like there is an air leak somewhere. I've contacted Water Cannon and they are sending me a new one and will look into warrantying it for me. Has anybody else had trouble like this out of almost a brand new attachment?

Carefully take the barb fitting off and check for debris or a broken spring inside. I don't use their products but these are likely culprits.

Oh yeah and I've had some last months, some hours, some days, longer is more common though. This is a good item to always have a few spares around.

Check and see if the hose has a cut in it, ours had a cut just yesterday and was doing the samething. After we fixed the hose it started working again just fine. Also check the spring to insure that it didn't break.

I have had the ceramic ball inside stick to the oring. Pull out the ball squirt a little grease on the oring. I also only use chemical filters WITHOUT the check valve in it. I think they pull better.

I wonder what everyone thinks the best injector is!

Which ones do you get from Paul, Doug? I've been SSS from day one without a problem... But they are getting expensive!!

I never tried the SSS but I have had three separate Allison injectors, and each only lasted about 2 weeks. The GP fixed injectors always seem to last me at least 6 months.

Bleach is the killer of the injectors it eats the springs, stainless steel balls and orings up. Many times the oring will get sticky and the ball will stick to it when you go to high pressure. you can free it up with a pick through te barb opening and it may work for a while. Otherwise try removing the barb and check if the oring or spring is worn or gone (dissolved). you can try removing the oring and flipping it, sometimes that will get you by until you get an new one or a repair kit. another common issue is the orifice will loosen up in the body. They are usually installed with an allen wrench or a flat head screwdriver. make sure it is installed all the way and tight in the body of the injector (vibration will cause them to back out on some) . Also like mentioned check the spring and the venturi cavity for any debris. a small piece of Teflon tape, string or plastic can stop it from working. If you run a lot of bleach you can also try and clean it out in some mild acid to remove the rust and corrosion which can help as well.

Maybe I've been lucky with SSS for the past 5 years!!

I've used GP injectors in that time period and they have worked just fine - just found that SSS had great draw when working with 8+ gpm.
