DI tanks worth it in my case?

Hey guy I'm curious I run PW full time and Auto Detailing part time I probably average 20-30 cars a week. I currently squeege and chaomis them, with the quantity of cars that I put out would it be worth using DI tanks Cost/Time saved. I know it would be great for fleet washing but what are your opinions with a business of my size? I'm not sure if system has to do with amount of water used but with Detailing I only use about 250 gallons max per week.

Generally speaking is this something I should look into or would it be a waste with the low volume I am putting out?

Thanks for any input

It depends on what kind of rental you get. There are some companie sthat charge you a set fee per set that you have one hand, and then a recharge for each set you use. What this means is, if you usually have a set on your trailer they charge you $30.00 a month(AN EXAMPLE) and then each time they are exhausted, they charge you another $25. SO one exchange a month costs you $55 a month, two exchanges $80 etc.
The Place I use just charges me a rental for each set, so that I am able to store extra tanks at my house. It is practical for me, because I sometimes change them out a coupel of times a week, and I don't use them on every fleet job. THe company I use is national, and it is called Ionics pure solutions, or Apollo pure solutions in other parts of the country.. I know that CUlligan rents them nationally.
One thing that you need to be aware of, These companies are really used to getting burned by mobile washers. SO don't be surprised if they want some sort of collateral, or deposit. My company did not require it, but it was because I had a track record.
personally, if the DI tanks eat up more than about 5% of your gross on that small of a scale, I would not think it was worth it.

Thanks Scott

I did some calling around I figured it would take probably about 10-12% so I dont think it would really be a great advantage to me at this time, Thanks for taking the time to reply.

Andrew did you take in consideration of the cost saving in soap that the DI would save you,it may bring down the 10-12% plus it may save time in rinsing,,just a thought.

Didn't consider that.

Hi Bigboy:
Actually I did not really consider it would save anything other than time, will it save on other cost? I currently only wash and detail cars and pickups for the owners I wash old fashioned way sudsing soap and a brush, can you recomend an easier/faster method that will not remove the wax each wash. I was tring to research this but haven't had much success, I guess I should have posted any questions t you guys who do mass quantites on a daily basis. Any Insights to help me save time and money?

Thanks Andrew/Safe Clean

Thanks Scott, the older I get the blinder I get, maybe the trucks I wash aren't as clean as I think they are haha.

I use baby shampoo on my show trucks besides wax doesn't last every long........a guy needs to wax his car or truck every month to keep it new looking.......yel I know some say wax last a year

Worked this time

Thanks Bigboy, I got the link and it worked although I haven't had a chance to look at it all it looks like it might be helpful. About your comment about the wax it really depends on the type of wax and how often you wash your vechicle TEFLON really last about a year if you wash your car at least once every two weeks, Personally I wash my truck once a week and wax with TEFLON once a month. Been that way since it was painted from the factory. Just my Thoughts! Take a look at it on my site shines just like it came off the showroom floor.
