DeckGuide.com and the TimberPro Product line is up for Sale....

It is with mixed emotions that we are placing DeckGuide.com and the DeckGuide Pro Forums up for sale. It's been a great experience over the past couple years building and growing a community of wood care professionals from across the united states and abroad and we appreciate all of the kind support we have been giving through the years. We are rapidly expanding in our own wood care business and a decision has been made to direct all of our attention to the service side of our own business and sell of the retail portion.

The mainstay of DeckGuide.com is the DeckGuide Pro forums. The first of it's kind it continues to be the #1 resource and forum on the internet for wood care professionals and the industry as a whole. It's a growing forum network for those in the wood care industry to come and learn, share, and meet others within their own trade. The forum averages around 10 new users a week all of which are potential customers for the retail portion of the site (www.deckguide.com).

The network currently consists of over 640 ACTIVE members (we just weeded through the inactives reducing the count from 870 members). The forum network allows you to "keep in touch" with your registered members through email and a private bulletin system. The private bulletin system is a unique way to promote and advertise the forums, your sponsors, and the items sold on DeckGuide.com to the existing membership. Live chats, ad space, and more are all integrated into the forum network making it extremely user friendly and entices user to return.

The forum itself also allows for some extensive advertising capabilities. Installed are a rotational banner which sells for $300 (3 months) per advertiser with a 3 month minumum contract. Subcatagory sponsorships are also integrated into the forums as static ads on the main page and retail for $75 a month (also a 3 month contract). These can easily be used as in house advertising space as well. Existing advertising on the site yields $3600.00 annually.

DeckGuide.com in itself is a portal for practically anything needed in servicing the wood care industry. You will be purchasing the web site (www.deckguide.com) and ALL OF OUR SUPPLIER/VENDOR BOOKS & INFORMATION. What is so great about this system is around 70% of the items you will sell are drop ship (if you so desire)! This means your making money by either faxing or calling in the order. Little to no handling of merchandise. We have a source for everything from pressure washers and related equipment to chemicals and wood sealants. There are literally hundreds of items available to you that ARE NOT on the site and the potential for expansion is endless. One thing this business WILL REQUIRE is your time. This was a commodity that I did not have enough of unfortunately which is the reason for the sale.

DeckGuide.com has excellent placement on the web in the wood care related key words (#1 under deckcare via google) and could easily be expanded to hit the pressure and power washing industry. Currently our meta tags are TARGETED for wood care in general.

Also for sale are the TimberPro line of products. With this you will be purchasing the chemical formulas we use to create the popular TimberStrip Pro, TimberBright Pro, and TimberClean Pro. Any local chemical supplier can produce the finished product for you to sell to your customers. You can expect at least a 50% or more return on these products in the retail market. We already have an large following for these products so you'll be stepping into a demand for product as soon as the season begins.

Parties interested in more information on DeckGuide.com, the Deckguide Forums, or the TimberPro product line should email me for further information at deckguide@attbi.com or call our office at (219) 548-2670.

Best wishes to all for the new year!

Deck guide, who ownsit now?

G & K Distributors, LLC in Illinois. I'm not naming the actual person who owns it. If they want to chime in, then that's fine. The Deckguide site is pretty much dead, but the Timberpro chems are very good (high quality). Good prices and quick shipping. I used them for several years until I started making my own.
