Cleaning Formula

I am considering taking on some jobs doing residential homes. It has been recommended that a gallon of bleach, an ounce of liquid tide and some jet-dry will do an acceptable job of cleaning using a cold water pressure washer of 3500 psi and 4 gpm. I am working in the Jacksonville, Florida area and expect to do vinyl, wood, block and brick siding. Any comments regarding the above formula. How much jet-dry should be mixed in? Thanks for your help.

ron p/first off

do a search of house washing. This has been covered meny times.
No one can help you with how much of what chem to use untill we know how you plan on getting the chem. from bucket to house.
I highly suggest doing a search on this site useing keyword X-JET.
Then re-ask your questions from there.
Much more important then the act. mix is understanding WHY people use each of the ingreadiants in there mix. That way you can adjust your mix to clean multiable amounts of diffrent soils that you may come accross.
for exsample
bleach=sodium hyperchlorite in a 6% solution
liquid pool chlorine= 12% sodium hyper chlorite
Bleach or poool chlorine, what dose it do to help you? It kill's mold. What are the problems and dangers of spraying SH? There are meny, just because you can buy it in a supermarket dose not mean it's safe. The mfg. dose not exspect you to be spraying it. Use a canister type mask when spraying SH. In order for SH to work it needs DWELL time[needs to stick to the surface]. Well how do you get a watery type concestancy chem[bleach] to stick to a plastic waterproof surface?
Some use TIDE, and that is reccomended by the offical vynal siders of america web site as a cleaner, thats good. Tide is mfg. not to foam up, if it did your washing machine would overflow with suds. So we still need foam to get the cleaning solution to stick. I add diffrent amounts of DAWN dish soap to get my solution to get it to STICK.[it is made to foam up and has dirt fighting powers]
JET-DRY or CASCADE is used in aiding in spot free windows. The amount you use is determend by the hardness of your water supply. The harder the water the more of any chem you will need to get any surface clean. This is why one persons mix may not help you and the reason for learning more about chems. and what they do.
LEARNING CHEMS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT PART OF PRESSURE WASHING !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
SAFE AND PROPER USE OF CHEMS WILL MAKE YOU FASTER THEN YOUR COMP.AND DO A BETTER JOB WITH LESS PRESSURE, CUTTING DOWN ON SURFACE WARE.
This in turn will make you more money in less time.
im sure you will get more replies but if you want more help from me please show me you did a little homework on this site to prove you are ready to help yourself. There are a ton of great post's on this site by people that are tired of ans. the same questions or have stopped posting and it would do you a great justice to read them.
After learning more about chem and % of chem you need to get on the surface to get the job done,we need to talk about how to get the mix from bucket to house. Each method will apply your solution in diffrent %%%. We can talk about that next if you want?
sorry for the long post as it is.

Thanks for the advise!

Thanks Ron & John for your reply. I appreciate the detail you provided, Ron. I will certainly take your advise and do a search of this forum for tips from the past. I have been studying doing concrete flatwork and have only recently become interested in doing houses. I guess I got caught up in posting and needed to get back to researching. Thanks again for the tip, I truly appreciate it!

Searching is great, but feel free to speak up and post any questions you may develop.

I use "Pure Rinse" Liquid Cascade..........and I put about four generous squirts of it per 5 gallons.
