I would try to cut the third parties out if you can. Check out sites that promote the auctions themselves like Farm and Dairy.
Any type of sale like that typically is a "as is sale" meaning buyer beware with no returns. Usually you can't even test it out. Plus keep in mind anybody or company that didn't make the proper payments on that equipment probably didn't take the best care of it. But I'm sure you can find some great deals it's just a little bit of a gamble.
