Business Name

Hey guys. I've been lurking around, posting every now and then for a few months now and have a question. I currently mow lawns under the business name, "Moose Tracks Lawn Care". (In case you are wondering, I get the name from my nickname at the fire department I work for.) I'm wanting to begin pressure washing in the spring and should be getting my first pieces of equipment this week. I was wanting to change the name of my business to "Moose Tracks Property Services." I'm concerned that the name may be too unprofessional even though it is catchy and memorable. I was going to follow the name with, "Funny Name, Serious Service." What do you all think? Should I change the name or run with it? If not, any suggestions? Thanks!!

Daniel

I would keep it and run with it. Every body around your area and your customers are already familiar with the name "Moose Tracks".. it Sounds good. ( my .02cents) :)

I think you should keep the name as well. Your already established and people know you. Start marketing now so in the spring you can be up and running. Good luck.

That's ok. I hear that every now and then from co-workers. So far though, no one has talked about actual professionalism for landing new contracts.

I think the Moose Tracks name is easy to remember. As for professionalism... treat your current customers as a professional and you will percieved as one. For future contracts use your current ones as refrences to your professionalism. If you do a good job and treat people well it will get around. Use the fact that you already have an established lawn care buisness and that you are successful enough to expand into pressure washing.

i do agree with cameron, its how the customer perceives you and your work. your name can be flashy, catchy or blah. and still do very well. i named my business after talking to my brother who owns a very successful smal business. he said i should identify my brand with myself and the product.. ie: servicemark= what i do and mark= my name. surprisingly servicemark means to set an industry standard. hope this helps. mark

Thanks Mark, that's good advice. I'm working on getting my stuff together now so I'll be ready to go when it starts to warm back up. Man I can't wait!
