Building Wash with full reclaim

Can you guys that reclaim let me know the most efficient and cheapest way to reclaim water off of a building wash?

We have been asked to quote washing 18000 sq ft right along the river and when I asked the maintenance manager he said that the back parking lot drains directly into the river.

If anyone knows of any other way to go about this please let me know.

Distributors please feel free to weigh in - PM me some prices.

We have a 5 GPM MiTM 3505 with a general pump and the back of the truck is pretty full as we haul 700 Gallons of water plus our other stuff.

I had to look it up, but 30C is 86F, Lol.

As to my being a girl, no offence taken, you may now understand why I sometimes have questions about stuff that most self respecting men would know about

Man or Woman, That's why people are here. to learn, share and better the industry.

I have 3 accounts where I use a lot of plastic to control the water for reclaim

I use shims to hold the edge of the plastic under the siding and spread it out to cover the paved, striped, new parking lots. I then dam up the other side and let the water accumulate there.

For me as a greaser, I then pump the water into a drain that goes through the grease trap. No greasy water on parking lot. Minimal cleanup also. Works every time. I have to wash the side of the buildings to get the grease off of them.

Good luck.

Vacuum Reclaim at the drain

DrainCover-Mat and VacuBerm type devices are perfect what's "headed for the storm drain".
Some work with a simple shop-vac..
some work better on rough surfaces, some better on smooth.
Call me for more detail.

What do you do with the water after you reclaim? Say you pick it up in a 10gal shop vac can you dump it into a planter bed or do you have to haul it away to the sanitary sewer?

Building wash-

Dumpster pad with grease-

sorry for the newbie question could not find it the searches.

A shop vac will burn up in short order, from my experience. You need something more industrial if younger going to vac.

dumping Wash Water on the lawn..

Good point Scott,
This is why we were asked to build "something more" many years ago,
by the mobile detailer, as they throw away shop-vacs every 3 to 5 months.
Auto-pump-out is definitely required for WorkSpeed.
As far as where to pump the water.. in most areas of the country..
greasy stuff goes through an OWS (oil-water-separator),
then to the sanitary sewer.
for lighter washing..
pumping "mineral water with surfactant" in it, is fertilizer to the landscaping,
and quite enviro-friendly...
even if there's a little heavy-metals in it, the grass breaks it down naturally,
..as I've been told.
Check with the local authorities, and the best way I've heard to "get the right answer"..
..Is to ask it in two parts..
1. "Where do the carpet cleaners dump their loads ?"
...most of them are allowed to dump on the lawn, with the owners' permission,
as long as it's "filtered through a screen"..
..That's right, baby-puke and dog crap is allowed in most cities !.. . !

2. "where do the city crews dump their wash water after cleaning restrooms at the park ?
..after graffiti removal ??
If it's Legal for them, it's Legal for everyone else ! Eh?

Thats great! Very clever and appropriate direction to take in determining what to do with waste water

Soleil,

If the water drains through the parking and goes to the river through some sort of drainage system, you can tap it off or by-pass it to a tank with sump pump. Pump the dirt water into another tank, haul it to a sewer drain and call it a day :).. Just an idea..
