We started large warehouse project today, had a new guy come with us, I asked him "you scared of heights" he said "no, no problem."

I wasn't even willing to go up.

So up he went 80 feet did a great job, wish I had more like him.

It is funny how some people will admit that they don't like heights and some that brag how high they say that they will go up, then you take them up in a lift with the wind blowing moving the basket some and a lot of the guys will freeze. hahahahaha

It is one thing to be up high on something solid that does not move and it is another when you are up high and the wind is moving what you are on.

Great job of breaking in the new guy. That building cleaned up good.

We had a huge condo building overlooking the Bull River in Savannah...not too far from where River meets Ocean. I was on an 80' lift, fully extended, wind blowing in hard, One hand on the cage, the other on the wand....very scary when you pull the trigger, get the kick back at 80' with wind blowing. Did the whole thing but it was not fun. I am sure the folks watching from their windows thought it was funny cause I know they cold see the fear in my eyes. I am not scare of heights, but I was scared of that combination of things and heights.

Over the las 8 years I have hired 110 employees, and always ask the height question, typical response in "no problem, don't bother me at all. Out of those 100+ employees less then a 10% of them have actually told the truth, the rest have either gone up and then lost there nerve or just plain walk away or some other lame ass excuse. I freely admit that I am scared of heights, 40 feet is about my limit. Although many times have had to go up. We used a 160' bucket truck one time and I was up there for 2 days 12 hours a day, that just about killed me. We have 20 more of this type of building to do in the next few months, hope the new guy hangs in there.

I pretty sure max wind is 25mph on a boom lift. I some times have that in my estimate on loss days due to high wind.
