6month's out of warrentee i get a thrown push rod.
new head ,valve guide, push rod,gasket's,ect....
labor/part's will cost me $500 plus all the down time.
I can buy new at $700.
This engine gave me zero warning sign's of anything that was going wrong.
I change the oil every month[im part time putting in about 20 hr's a week.]
I might try to fix this myself.
After i get the new engine.
Where do i find the part's and a good book on rebuilding?
The belt's outlasted the engine[never even needed adj.]
very un-happy.

I got my Manual at the local small engine shop for $13.00

Ron P,
Sorry to hear of your delema. How many hours were on the Briggs before she killed over?

Are you going to go with another Briggs?

dont have an hour meter [did'nt think i needed one]
Could'nt risk down time on the rebuilding. Got motor next day. Installed in 2 hour's. I wish builder's of wash unit's would use never sieze on the pully's.
I had a 13 hp cold water unit running on oposite side of box truck. The exsaust deflector came loose and was blowing the exsaust right at the air cleaner for the LARGO. The largo shoot's the exsaust to the rear of the box truck, Then it was 95 deg outside.
I overheated the brigg's and a valve failed.
$400 to get it fixed.
now i have a spare.
It suck's that this happened but i believe in carma. I did my first whole house wash and seal. Job went too easy for something not to go wrong.
Cedar sided ranch. 3 hr's to wash/brightin [2 guy's-washed gutter's-sidewalk's-driveway-curb's]
4 hr's to roll and pad the cabot's [2 guy's]
Charged $2700 labor and material's cost me $450
I hate to paint but this seem's to be where the real money is.
Just washing, ive never made so much in so short a time.
Felt weird so i got bad carma = breakdown.
Not brigg's fault. Poor planning on my part.
I just quit my reg full time job.
Im going full time and going back to school at 39.
Im scared to death.

congrats on the big move ,hope to do the same shortly

Ron P,

Sounds like you identified the problem and you are rolling again.
Good luck with going full time pressure washing.

Good luck with school. I am sure you will do well since your focous is much clearer than at 18!
