Brand New Hydrotek Unit With 8 Hours On It - Hydrotek Refusing To Warranty It

I got a brand new 7.8 GPM unit off of e-bay and let it sit in storage for 6 months before putting it on my truck. The unit had 0.7 hours on it when I put it on the truck. The heating coil is leaking fuel out of both ends of it. I called Hydrotek and they said I was out of the 1 year warranty period. I spent 5 1/2 hours today at my mechanic's trying to get the leak to stop. He has 30 years experience working on these machines and he couldn't figure it out.

The reason I don't take it to Hydrotek is I don't want to get ripped off and stuck with a $1,000 repair bill from them. As far as I'm concerned their customer service sucks and I will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau tonight against them.

I'm making the 2 hour plus drive down Friday morning to see Sirocco Jerry and hopefully he can fix it. Anyone else have any problems with the new Hydrotek units besides me?

I'll be the first to admit it, I should have just spent the extra $$$ and got a unit from Jerry to begin with.

I have seen burners wired incorrectly, where the fuel shutoff was wired in series with the fan instead of the second lead out to the flow/highlimit/thermostat.
Also could be a bad nozzle or no nozzle in the burner, this could be your problem as well.

Good luck either way

I went and saw Jerry today. There was numerous things wrong with this machine, we even had to order some new parts for it as well. Not to mention Hydrotek even put the wrong fuel pump on the burner. I guess they have a bunch of monkeys assembling their machines now, all they have to do is feed them bananas.

This kind of info can kill a business.
